Vietnam e-visa
Vietnam’s e-visa (electronic visa) is an online visa option that allows travelers to apply, pay, and receive their visa through an official government website. Since 15 August 2023, Vietnam’s e-visa policy has been expanded to cover all nationalities, offering a validity of up to 90 days with either single entry or multiple entry options, depending on the applicant’s selection.
What is a Vietnam e-visa?
Vietnam e-visa is an immigration document issued electronically for travelers who meet Vietnam’s eligibility requirements. Once approved, you download the e-visa PDF and present it when you enter Vietnam.

Validity: Up to 90 days (policy expanded from 30 days starting 15 Aug 2023);
Entries: Available as single entry or multiple entry;
Purposes: You can use an e-visa for a purpose of tourism, business, working or visiting relatives
Where you can use it: You can use the e-visa to enter Vietnam via government designated international border gates for e-visas, including airports, land ports or seaports
Who can apply for Vietnam e-visa?
Foreigners staying outside Vietnam who hold a valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity and are not subject to entry restrictions under Vietnam’s immigration regulations are eligible to apply for a Vietnam e-visa.
Vietnam e-visa fees (official government fees)
The commonly published government processing fees are:
- US$25 for a single entry e-visa
- US$50 for a multiple entry e-visa
Important notes:
- These are processing fees, generally non-refundable once paid, even if your application is refused or you entered incorrect details.- Third-party agencies may charge service fees on top of the government fee. If you apply directly, you typically pay only the government fee.
Entry and exit requirements
Please make sure you will follow these entry and exit requirements when using a Vietnam e-visa:
1. Use an approved e-visa border gate
Vietnam e-visa holders must enter and exit through designated international border gates (airports, land border crossings, and seaports that the government approves for e-visas).Vietnam has expanded e-visa checkpoints over time, so confirm your intended arrival airport, land crossing or seaport is on the current approved list before you book transportation.
2. Enter within your validity dates
When you recevie you e-visa, please check the visa validity carefully to make sure it will cover your whole trip. In the issued e-visa, you will find these notes "valid from date" and "valid until date" You must enter Vietnam within that window and depart accordingly.3. Match your passport exactly
Your e-visa is linked to the passport number you apply with.
