Vietnam visa requirements for Dutch citizens

Vietnam immigration policies regulated that Dutch tourists and businessmen do NOT need a visa to stay in Vietnam for less than 45 days. They just need to bring along with the original passport and present a round trip air ticket at the immigration counter to enter the country without a visa.

Most citizens of foreign country are obliged to apply for Vietnam visa prior to arriving Vietnam except the citizens of Vietnam visa exempted countries.

Is that Vietnam visa required for Dutch citizens?

No, Dutch citizens have 45 days Vietnam visa exemption.

However, Vietnam visa is required for the Dutch citizens who are wishing to stay in Vietnam for more than 45 days. The Dutch travelers or those who are currently living in this country may apply for Vietnam visa by 3 options:

  • Applying for Vietnam e-visa and get the visa within 5 working days (normal service) or 1-2 hours (emergency service). Vietnam e-visa is accepted at the eligible entry ports, icluding airports, land ports and seaports.

    The foreigners who are staying outside Vietnam can start applying for Vietnam e-visa by filling in the visa application form, uploading the passport page photo and portrait photo taken within 6 months, paying the visa fee and receiving the e-visa via email.   • Getting a visa approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department within 7 working days (normal service) or just 1-2 working days (rush service) which allows the foreigners to enter Vietnam by airplane and pickup a visa stamp at the arrival airports. It's beneficial for those who is living in the country where there is no Vietnam Embassy or Consulate established.
  • Getting a Vietnam visa from Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in Netherlands and it takes about 3-5 working days to complete.
